The first stages with the victories of Julian Alaphilippe, Mathieu Van der Poel then Mark Cavendish, also gave a romantic side to this Tour de France 2021. A dramatic turn amplified by the dire climate that the riders had to face in the Alps on Saturday and Sunday.
The South African, Nic Dlamini, went to the end of himself to rally Tignes, despite his 1h24 behind the winner of the day and his chances, zero, to return on time.
