Copa America semi-final summary: Brazil defeats Peru 0: 1 (Sport 1)

Brazil continues to maintain an impressive dominance in South America.

Tonight (Tuesday through Wednesday) the Salsa advanced to the Copa America final for the second time in a row and extended their winning streak to 13, after beating Peru 0-1 in the semifinals in Rio de Janeiro.

Lucas Fakta, who scored the winning goal in the quarter-final against Chile, was once again Tita's winning card with a goal in the 35th minute from Neymar's marvelous cooking, and now the Salsas are waiting for Argentina and Leo or Colombia in Saturday's final in Marcana.

Without Gabriel Jesus being sent off, Tita preferred Everton over Roberto Firmino on offense, and at least in the first few minutes it worked great.

The Salsas, who defeated Peru 0-4 in the home leg just two weeks ago, seemed determined to score a quick goal, reaching more and more situations.

Unfortunately, Neymar missed twice - once kicking out from seven yards, and the second time squeezing a big save from Pedro Gaisa.

The Peruvian goalkeeper continued to fend off Celsao's attempts until Neymar's magic moment came: the PSG star received a depth ball in a burst, was unimpressed by three defenders rushing towards him, hit twice as he passed one of them between the legs, and delivered a wide ball which he continued Lucas Facta to the net, in what became Neymar's third cook in the tournament.

The second half was different.

The Salsas went backwards, Peru tried to get an equalizer and came up with several halves of chances in front of Ederson's goal, but failed to capitalize on them, with Gianluca Padula missing twice from winking situations.

It went hard, but the title of South America again within touching distance.

Argentina and Colombia will compete tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday, 4pm, Sport1) for second place in the final, possibly en route to the classic South American final in Marcana, and another episode in the rivalry between Leo Messi and Neymar.

The Salsaos, who have never lost the box office in a home tournament, feel the second consecutive title win.
