Versatility is her trump card: Sandra Morawitz from Hallbergmoos won the DM in the Biathle and the Bavarian championship in the duathlon.
Hallbergmoos
- Two days, two competitions and three titles: Sandra Morawitz from Hallbergmoos was successful in the biathle and duathlon over the weekend.
She was very satisfied with her performance - but there is still a downer.
With a big lead on the title
First it went to Weiden, where the German championships took place in the Biathle.
This is a combination sport - in her age group Morawitz had to master 1200 meters of running, 100 meters of swimming and another 1200 meters of running.
Also at the start was Alice Schmidkunz, who had only recently snatched the championship title in the Laser-Run-DM (we reported).
But this time the Hallbergmooser won the championship with a lead of more than two minutes, despite the unusually short running distance for her.

Fast on the move: One day later, the Hallbergmooser didn't let anything go wrong at the Bavarian Duathlon Championships in her age group.

In the relay, as in the laser run, Morawitz competed with Pierre Jander - and in the end they won after 600 meters of running, 100 meters of swimming and another 600 meters of running.
Jander had "vaccinated" his teammate before the competition: Since he knew that he would need a good starting position against his worst rival, Morawitz should run out of one.
And that worked perfectly: When the handover to her team mate was handed over, the lively mid-forties had achieved a lead of around 36 seconds.
This cushion should ultimately be enough for the DM success in the Biathle season.
In the overall standings, only two women were faster
Just one day later, Morawitz started at the Bavarian Duathlon Championships in Krailling. Here were 10.4 kilometers of running, 40.5 kilometers of cycling and finally 5.2 kilometers of running on the program. And it went well for the athlete from the airport community, because in the end she took third place in the overall ranking of all participating women - she was Bavarian champion in her age group.
After this competition weekend, Morawitz was of course satisfied with the results.
After her intervertebral disc surgery in autumn, she had no pain.
She only regrets one thing: “Unfortunately, the EM in the Duathlon, which was to take place in Alsdorf near Aachen this year, was canceled again and moved to April 2022.
It's a shame because I was obviously really looking forward to defending my European title in my own country.
I hope, however, that I can still take part in a few triathlons in August and September instead. ”There, too, she wants to convince with strong performances again.
