The world championship fight in heavyweight boxing between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder is apparently about to be canceled.
As reported by the US broadcaster ESPN and the BBC, the British Fury tested positive for the corona virus on Thursday.
The fight is scheduled to take place on July 24th.
According to reports, the duel may be postponed to October.
ESPN, which jointly holds television rights to the fight in the US with Fox, noted that Fury would be quarantined in his home country.
According to the British BBC, the postponement of the fight will be officially announced on Friday.
The last duel ended in a knockout
The third meeting between the 32-year-old Fury and the three-year-old "Bronze Bomber" is on the program in Las Vegas.
The 2018 first fight ended in a controversial draw after Fury went down twice.
In February 2020, the Briton won again by technical knockout in the seventh round.
Fury had actually planned a lavish unification fight against his compatriot Anthony Joshua (world champion of the associations WBA, IBF and WBO).
In May, a US court ruled that Fury was contractually obliged to face Wilder a third time.
