Munich - The dream of becoming a professional footballer - millions of young talents dream it all over the world. FC Bayern * is currently carrying out a project called “FC Bayern World Squad”. The aim of the program is to bring 15 U19 talents from all over the world together, train as a team and play a final game against the record champions' U19 team on August 6th in Munich. With this initiative, FC Bayern and Volkswagen want to promote young footballers around the world, promote cultural exchange and give players from structurally weaker regions a stage.

A total of 654 talents from 64 nations applied via video to participate in the program.

Goalkeeper Abdoulaye Gueye (17 / Planegg) and striker Alekzandar-Boris Sinabov (18 / Deisenhofen), both from Munich, are two of the last 15 selected.

A huge success!

The two have been in Mexico since June 28th.

In Celaya they will be coached by Bayern legend and world champion Klaus Augenthaler (63) and the international FC Bayern youth coach Christopher Loch until Friday.

Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer as role models

“It is an honor to train with Mr. Augenthaler. He taught me what a big role first contact plays in football, ”Sinabov explains in an interview with

tz

. The native Bulgarian has only lived in Munich for four years, but already speaks perfect German. Things are going like clockwork for him on the soccer field too. In the 4-1 in the first test against Club America, the striker scored with a penalty. In the 2-0 in the second game against Celaya, he remained goalless. His role model? Of course, Bayern clippers Robert Lewandowski. "I also strive for goals, would describe myself as a mixture of Lewandowski * and Ibrahimovic," said Sinabov.

The training camp was also great for Gueye, he was allowed to play through in goal against Club America.

“My role model is Manuel Neuer *.

I am someone who motivates my teammates and speaks a lot.

I'm a leader, ”says the good-mood player.

"I'm also quite good on the line."

Augenthaler: "We have a great team spirit"

The third game against Queretaro ended 1: 2.

Much more important than the result is the character of the player to Augenthaler.

“We have a great team spirit,” he says.

“After the first test match we were stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident.

The trip took five hours.

What I thought was great: None of the guys complained about it. "

Most of all, the defense and tactics are being worked on in Mexico. But there is also a lot on offer for the talents off the field: Last Thursday, there was a media training session with Bayern employees from the US office. There was also a workshop with a local artist and a Mexican evening with a mariachi band.
