This package accompanies that of Soren Kragh Andersen (DSM), also ashore on Friday, after a massive fall in a descent paved with gravel. The Dane shows signs of concussion. In total, 35 riders have now withdrawn from the start of the Grande Boucle, while less than 150 competitors (149) take the start of the 14th stage. This is the first time since 2012 that the peloton has also been reduced to the biggest race in the world at this stage.
