There were chaotic scenes before the final of the European Football Championship in London.
As can be seen on videos in the social networks, hundreds of fans apparently stormed through the entrance to the Wembley Stadium and some clashes with folders.
Videos could also be seen as people apparently ran up a flight of stairs at the stadium and were followed by security personnel.
Uefa confirmed that fans had come over the outer security fences.
However, they would not have gained access to the interior of the stadium.
The direction of the game is not in question.
A stadium announcer said that "security areas in the relevant areas were activated quickly".
Fans without tickets in town
Hundreds of fans celebrated in front of the stadium and across the city hours before the final.
Thousands of fans sang warmly in Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square despite the high corona numbers in Great Britain.
Apparently, many spectators traveled to London even without a ticket for the game.
The Metropolitan Police urged fans without tickets via announcements and on Twitter to stay away from the entire district.
“Please don't come to Wembley!
It's extremely crowded there.
The stadium is sold out, there are no more tickets to be had, ”the authorities said.
A large number of people in and around the stadium are keen to ensure the safety of all visitors.
More than 60,000 spectators are admitted to the match in the evening between Italy and England (9 p.m., live ticker SPIEGEL.de; TV: ZDF) in the stadium.
