A week after the American National Day, Sepp Kuss flies the star-spangled banner in the sky of Andorra.
The Jumbo-Visma rider won the 15th stage of the Tour de France this Sunday in Andorra la Vella.
This is his first victory on the Grande Boucle.
Starting in the morning breakaway, the American was stronger in the last difficulty, the Beixalis pass (6.4 km at 8.5%).
The only one who could almost follow the 26-year-old cyclist was the veteran of this Tour de France, Alejandro Valverde.
He fell just 20 seconds behind the American but did not regain enough time on the descent to the Andorran capital to challenge Sepp Kuss for victory.

On the side of the favorites, the contenders took turns attacking each other in the Beixalis pass but were finally neutralized.
Only Guillaume Martin, runner-up to Tadej Pogacar from Céret, gave up a lot of time, being released in the Port d'Envalira, the penultimate ascent of the day.
