Led by a towering Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks cut the NBA Finals to 1: 2 against the Phoenix Suns.
After the 42 points in game two, Antetokounmpo added 41 points on Sunday evening and also led the Bucks to a 120: 100 victory with clever actions, 13 rebounds and six assists.
In game four on Thursday night (3:00 a.m. CEST, Stream: Dazn), the Bucks can again equalize as hosts in front of their own fans.
However, the comparison with Michael Jordan was too much for Antetokounmpo after his gala performance.
“I'm not Michael Jordan.
Four 40-point games?
One after the other? "Asked the Greek after his second game in a row with at least 40 points and then said again emphatically:" I'm not Michael Jordan. "
The basketball legend of the Chicago Bulls had scored more than 40 points in four consecutive games in the 1993 NBA Finals against the Suns.
Even if Antetokounmpo does not reach this mark, it is of outstanding importance to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Booker disappointed
Phoenix star Devin Booker only got ten points for the Suns and had a disappointing evening, and Chris Paul was not able to lead the Suns as decisively as he did with the two victories at the start.
On the other hand, Antetokounmpo, who was twice voted the most valuable player in the NBA, knew very well how to make the right decision in most situations.
He even hit 13 of his 17 free throws.
Coach Mike Budenholzer also praised the qualities of his star player on the defensive.
"If he consciously does something of everything, then he is best," said Budenholzer: "He does whatever it takes to help us."
The finals are about a lot for both teams.
The Suns have never taken the title in the NBA, the only championship at the Bucks was 50 years ago.
They last had the chance in 1974 and lost in seven games against the Boston Celtics.
