According to the Catalan daily
Sport
, Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona have agreed to an "agreement in principle" about a contract extension. The Argentine striker (34) has been officially free since July 1. He should extend until 2023, with emoluments revised downwards by 50% to help Barça to pay off their debt. The formalization could fall by the end of the week. There are still contractual details to settle, but the two parties have therefore given their word to continue the adventure together.
Sport
was already making its front page this Wednesday morning on a Messi "closer" than ever to extend, the day after the information from the
Parisian
according to which the PSG would have abandoned the track leading to the six-fold Ballon d'Or.
