Tokyo Olympics canceled?
Thomas Bach revealed to have thought about it, because of the epidemic pressure.
Asked about the holding of the Olympic Games (23 July-8 August), the IOC President spoke at a press point in Tokyo: “During these last 15 months, every day we have doubted.
When we announced the postponement of the Olympics for a year (Editor's note: in March 2020), we did not know what it was going to give.
And it turned out to be much more complex than imagined ”

Already postponed for a year because of the health crisis, the organization of the largest sporting event in the world has again been threatened because of the increase in Covid-19 cases in Tokyo.
The city has even been placed in a state of health emergency, forcing the competition to take place behind closed doors.
"Every day we made decisions and the next day we had to adapt and, three weeks later, we still had to adapt," recalled Thomas Bach, looking still marked by the turn of events.
“Different” closed-door competitions
For the first time in history, the Olympics will be held behind closed doors.
A constraint that President Thomas Bach will try to circumvent.
Sound atmospheres, as well as giant screens with virtual spectators will be set up in the stadiums.
“The trials are going to be different. We are going to create something immersive, with a sound system that will be used in the stadiums. We are going to use sounds from the events of the previous Olympics and broadcast them on the same competitions in Tokyo ”, detailed the IOC President. With just over a week before the start of the Olympics, the shadow of the coronavirus still hangs over Tokyo.
