The essential French sports brand announced this Friday morning that it has become an official partner of the Olympic and Paralympi Games

It's official, Decathlon will dress the 45,000 volunteers for the next edition of the Games to be held in Paris in 2024, almost three years from now.

These volunteers will become “decathletes” during the event since they will all be equipped with a set specially designed by the distributor of sporting goods for the occasion.

In an interview with the Team, Arnaud Gauquelin, the CEO of Decathlon France gave more details on this commitment between the two parties: “More than 1 million pieces

(textiles and shoes)

in total will be manufactured. And the majority will be produced in France. We are going to develop a network of manufacturers and subcontractors who have know-how and fairly high quality standards. This industrial fabric will be made accessible to other brands, which would also like to have it produced in France. ".

With Decathlon's large network, which has nearly 330 stores in the region, Paris 2024 will effectively be as close as possible to the French.

The company, which employs 97,000 people in France, also specified that beyond the clothing dimension, it will offer many events in communities labeled Terre de Jeux 2024.

It joins other brands on the bench of Official Partners: Cisco, Decathlon, FDJ, Le Coq Sportif, PwC and DXC Technology.

This new partnership allows the Paris Games to reach 600 million euros in partnerships.

But the target for sponsorship-related revenue is still far, set at 1.1 billion euros.
