Matej Mohoric smells the right moves

For the second time on this Tour de France, Matej Mohoric raised his arms alone.

Two weeks after his superb success at Le Creusot at the end of the longest stage of this Grande Boucle (249.1 km), the Slovenian champion did it again, again on a course of more than 200 kilometers (207 km) .

However, his team rolled behind him when the block had slipped out of the field when Mohoric was already among the six leading men.

In such a flat stage, his poor qualities as a sprinter would have failed him.

Finally, he played smart by attacking when everyone was looking at each other, 25 kilometers from Libourne.

And he won it all.

Its power made the difference.

Franck Bonnamour, act VI

Whether the road is flat, steep or rugged, Franck Bonnamour feels better up front.

For the sixth time in this Tour de France, the rider from B&B Hotels escaped from the first kilometers.

He was one of six runners in the morning group, before the 14 runner block joined them.

The profile being quite flat between Mourenx and Libourne, the chances of the Frenchman, more at ease on more hilly terrain, were very slim.

But never mind, Bonnamour once again had offensive inclinations.

There is no doubt that the title of Super Combative of the Tour is stuck in his mind and pushes him to go ahead as often.

He can't have any regrets today.

Flops

Christophe Laporte did not take the right wheels

The Frenchman certainly had the legs to win this Friday at Libourne.

Unfortunately for him, the Cofidis rider did not manage to follow Matej Mohoric's attack 25 kilometers from the finish.

He tried to make up for it by attacking when he realized that the Slovenian was gone for good, but it was pointless.

He had to be content with second place, and Cofidis has still not won a stage of the Grande Boucle since 2008 (Sylvain Chavanel).

Israel Start-Up Nation, out of tune

The big beats of this stage. The Ineos have not sent any riders in the breakaway either, but their workforce but is not necessarily made up to play their card in the flat stages. Still full this morning, the Israeli team therefore missed its chance, failing to take the breakaway. André Greipel, rather on his feet since the start of this Tour, would have had a real good card to play. Result: Chris Froome and others began to ride alone, or almost, at the head of the peloton to try to make up for their mistake once the counter started. In vain.
