Ultimately, the two McLaren were too fast for Alonso, Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo overtook the Alpine.
Sebastian Vettel * was still in eighth place at the time and naturally hoped to overtake Alonso as well.

The Williams driver was involved in a collision with Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz at the start of the race.
