NBA players separate from Omri Caspi (Maccabi Tel Aviv)

After a great career that lasted nearly 20 years, Omri Caspi is retiring from basketball.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv forward, who in recent weeks has shown signs that he will decide to postpone his retirement for another season, is now holding a press conference at which the official announcement is due, according to his associates and people he spoke to in recent days.

Caspi, 33, has a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv for another season, but the Yellows have the option of leaving the contract.

Maccabi has recently been preparing for the possibility that Caspi will decide not to retire, and the intention was to give him a cut contract from what he was supposed to earn, but the decision has apparently changed and the player is supposed to end his career.

Omri Caspi was a graduate of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the 2004/5 season and played for the team for four years, including one season, which he spent in the Hapoel Galil Elyon uniform.

At the age of 21, he was selected in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings and thus became the first Israeli ever to play in the best basketball league in the world.

Among other things, Caspi played in the NBA for the great Golden State Warriors for one season, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies.
