Six Polish swimmers will miss the Olympic Games due to an administrative error by their federation at the time of registration. The

It just goes to show that participation in the Olympic Games does not matter much.

Six Polish swimmers had to leave Tokyo even before the swimming events.

The reason: an administrative error of the Polish Swimming Federation at the time of registration (PZP).

Specifically, seven swimmers were entered and were entered in the individual races.

Only problem, the group had to participate in a relay.

Only one of the seven swimmers was eligible to participate individually, through an invitation from the World Federation (FINA).

The other six are therefore left behind and can say goodbye to their dreams of the Olympics.

"Sacrifice five years of your life for a gigantic failure"

PZP President Pawel Slominski, of course, admitted his mistake in a statement: “I want to express to the swimmers my greatest regret and sadness about the situation.

»Insufficient excuses.

The Polish Sports Ministry has officially asked the President of the Federation to account.

Already back in Poland, the swimmers are threatening the PZP with legal action and demanding the president's departure.

Alicja Tchorz, one of the six athletes concerned, denounced the “incompetence” of this institution, which, according to her, “misunderstood the rules”.

“Imagine sacrificing five years of your life and your sacrifice results in a gigantic failure,” complained the swimmer, present at the London and Rio Games, on social networks.

Enough to put a great atmosphere in the Polish delegation before the start of the Games.

The opening ceremony takes place this Friday and the swimming events will start the next day.
