A number of athletes in the men's and women's categories have been excluded from the Tokyo Olympics, after it was found that they were infected with the emerging corona virus.
According to German news agency DPA, the athletes are Chilean taekwondo player Fernanda Aguirre, Dutch figure skater Candi Jacobs, Czech tennis player Pavel Serocic, and an unidentified US volleyball player.
And the result of Aguirre's sample came positive, after she underwent a test to detect the emerging corona virus twice upon her arrival in Tokyo from Uzbekistan, where she was scheduled to participate in the 57-kilogram category in the women's taekwondo competitions at the Tokyo Olympics next Sunday.
The Dutchwoman, Jacobs, was also scheduled to participate in the women's road skating competitions on Monday.
