Nils Petersen was the tragic hero in the final of the 2016 Olympic soccer tournament: the Freiburg man lost his nerve in the penalty shoot-out against Brazil, and Germany lost very close in Rio de Janeiro and had to be content with silver.

Five years later, the DFB-Elf has the chance to take revenge: On July 22nd, the team trained by Stefan Kuntz will meet the Seleção again at the start of the group phase.

The German women's national team, which won the gold medal in 2016, missed the qualification.

The game is played in seven different stages.

Among others in Japan's capital Tokyo (National Stadium and Ajinomoto Stadium), Saitama, Yokohama, Kashima, Sapporo and Rifu.
