Not sure whether it was the conversations related to PSG that were targeted… According to information from Le Monde, the president of PSG Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, also boss of BeIN Sports, was the target of the Pegasus software on behalf of Saudi Arabia .
Two numbers belonging to him, as well as a landline number assigned to the club's communications director, were listed at the end of 2018 in order to monitor them, explains the daily.
However, it was not the transfer window that interested those who listed the numbers of the boss of PSG.
Le Monde recalls that at that time, at the end of 2018, there were strong tensions between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, in particular about a channel distributed in Saudi Arabia - BeoutQ - which stole the content of BeIN Sports, just banned in Saudi Arabia, to distribute it… without paying BeIN.

It is in this context that Le Monde, "with a very high degree of confidence", associates the placing under surveillance of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi's telephones with "a Saudi security service".
It is not known, however, whether Nasser Al-Khelaïfi's devices were indeed infected with Pegasus.
"We know that some entities have mounted cyber attacks against BeIN Sports and its employees for years (...) in addition to smear campaigns, commercial sabotage, frivolous legal complaints and cyber attacks against our president," World the group BeIn Media Group.
