Milwaukee Bucks fans celebrate championship win (from the Bucks' official Twitter account)

Yannis Antocompo continues to take over the NBA. After tonight's monstrous performance (Tuesday-Wednesday) that led Milwaukee to its first championship since 1971 and the obvious selection for the Finals MVP, Greek Freak already holds the most possible titles in the NBA: Championship, Finals MVP, Twice MVP this season, Defensive Player of the Season , And also five All-Star appearances.

Antocompo won the MVP unanimously, with all 11 journalists deciding the identity of the final standout choosing him. Yannis knew the ring was what he was missing to remove the question marks that had accumulated over the past two years following his ability in the playoffs. Immediately after the final whistle he burst into tears of happiness, and also seemed excited in an interview after the game: "I thank Milwaukee who believed in me. I trusted this team, I wanted to do it in this city, with the people I love. There is no happier than me that we managed to do it."

Yannis also gave the credit to Chris Middleton, the star next to him, saying "he pushed me every day. It's fun to be on the field with a friend like that. We've been together for eight years, and I'm glad I did it with him. Now we'll have to do it again."

At the post-match press conference, Yannis admitted that given his unique life circumstances, he could not have imagined he would reach this moment. "I never imagined that at the age of 26 I would get where I came from. I started playing basketball because I wanted to take care of my family, parents, siblings. When I was a kid, I did not know where to get lunch. My mother had to sell all kinds of nonsense on the street. Hell, I could not imagine coming here I know I'm a role model for a lot of people, but what happened to me should make everyone around the world believe in their dreams. When you feel bad, when you start to doubt yourself, believe and keep working hard. "They said I could not score a penalty! And today, fucking, I did it."

Yannis added: "I give people in Europe, in Africa, all over the world, that it can be done. When I got to the NBA, I did not know where I was going. And now I sit here, in the top of the top. Even if I can never sit all that chair again, I "I feel good about it. The main thing is that I gave people the opportunity to dream."

Yannis recalls his early years in the NBA, which were not easy. "I did everything to get to this place. I went through everything in those years - I got off the bench, I almost went to the G-League, I played as a coordinator, I played as a center. Today it all came to light - I had to make defense, make attack, everything from everything. Today, the hard work has paid off. "

Antocompo went on to explain why a degree in Milwaukee has special significance for him. "I could go to the super-team, do my part and win the championship. I was probably at least one championship like that. I couldn't leave because I felt the task was not complete. But I decided to stay and do it right. That's how it's done! That's how it is done! Fucking, we did it! "

On Kobe Bryant's part in his personal accomplishment, Yannis said: "He has a lot of meaning. At first, it was just a joke, but he set me goals and believed in me. If Kobe thought I was capable of being an MVP and leading a team to a championship, it's probably true. "I have to work hard and get it. I'm one who likes to please people, I do not like to disappoint anyone. That's why I signed a new contract in Milwaukee - I did not want to disappoint them, I did not want to leave without meeting my goal."

Yannis was especially moved when he spoke about his family and his father who had passed away.

"How much my parents suffered for me to get to this moment, it's unbelievable. I saw it every day of my life. This degree is for my mom, who worked so hard for me to get to it. It's for my dad who watches me from above and is proud. It's for my wife, "That helps me so much. It's for my brothers. I can be stupid sometimes, I can disconnect from the world because I so want to succeed. But people helped me get to it, I did not do it alone."

In the NBA, Yannis was saluted for the show and the ring.

"Congratulations to Yannis. You earned that shit!" LeBron James tweeted in response.

Rudy Gober wrote: "I'm so happy for Yannis and for Milwaukee. It's amazing to see what can happen when you dedicate your heart and soul to something, and stay true to yourself. Inspiring."

"I'm so blessed to have the privilege of working with him. Before he's an amazing player, he's an amazing person," Milwaukee coach Mike Bodenholzer said.

"I'm so proud of him, I learned so much from him, from his leadership. Chris and Yannis led this team, and it was beautiful."
