A goalless draw dominated the confrontation of Egypt and Spain today in the opening of the third group football competitions in the Olympic Games hosted by the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
The Spanish Matador failed to break into the Egyptian defensive forts over the course of the 90 minutes of the meeting, and coach Shawky Gharib's sons starred in banishing the Spanish attempts, while the Spanish duo, Danny Ceballos and Oscar Mingusa, were injured in the first half.
Australia topped the group standings by defeating Argentina 2-0, while Egypt and Spain ranked second and third, respectively, after they tied, leaving Argentina in last place without points.
