Newcomers VfB Hallbergmoos have to reinvent themselves a bit in the Bayernliga.
The FT did the position check before the start of the season.
- The countdown is on: The footballers of VfB Hallbergmoos are looking forward to their first Bayernliga match in the club's history, on Saturday at 5 p.m. it is against Türkspor Augsburg.
When putting together the squad and preparing it, it became clear that every player has to be flexible.
The Hallbergmooser know that depending on the opponent, a defensive or offensive orientation will be necessary.
But how good are the individual parts of the team?
The FT did the position check.
Nothing has changed here because there is no reason for changes: Ferdinand Kozel is a good, reliable goalkeeper - and his representative Martin Dinkel (20) has already proven his quality several times.
Talent Dinkel will celebrate his premiere in the Bavarian League due to an injury to Kozel, the young Noah Mpatsios is sitting on the bench.
In the goalkeeper position, VfB was ready for the Bayern league in the promotion season.
Back of three or back of four?
VfB coach Gedi Sugzda does not see these system issues as crucial, because you can expand a back four with a defensive six or the three on the outside in defense mode to form a five.
The 52-year-old tried everything in the friendly matches and selected the staff so that you can tweak the alignment under the game.
In the national league it was more about building up the offensive and preventing counterattacks.
Now the Hallbergmooser are prepared to be pushed back against strong opponents.
Captain Dennis Hammerl plays his first Bayernliga game at the age of 31.
But Sugzda is not afraid that he might get into trouble in view of the higher speed in the Bayernliga Süd: "Dennis is mentally faster - and that makes up for it."
In the past few years, the Hallbergers were less staffed on the outside lanes, so those responsible here have broadened the squad.
The newcomers are young footballers who can grow into the Bayern League.
It is clearly visible that there are defensive options - for example with Felix Bachmann and Christoph Mömkes - or more offensive options, for example with Tobias Krause.
VfB was already well staffed at the head office, and almost all of the players here have already had Bayernliga experience.
For coach Gedi Sugzda, there is no real distinction between attacking midfield and storm. "My offensives" is what he calls the package of players who have to be creative in the vicinity of the opposing body. VfB-Königstransfer André Gasteiger, for example - the newcomer has kicked in Karlsfeld and Pipinsried in the recent past - will be given a lot of freedom. While Fabian Diranko is a classic striker, the transition between attacking midfield and attacking other footballers (Kaan Aygün, Simon Werner, Daniel Bauer) is fluid.
Sugzda emphasizes that these players need to be variable in order to surprise and disrupt the opposing team.
Last weekend's cup game against Bayern league club Ismaning also showed that in some games you have to make a lot out of a few chances.
Continuous fire on the gate will be rare in the future.
VfB Hallbergmoos has broadened its squad, but with André Gasteiger only one guarantor who will help the team immediately. The others are young talents - there is the question of how the development will continue. For a newcomer, the squad has a lot of Bayernliga experience, and it is not harmful that no one really knows where you stand after Corona. The internal construction site of VfB is that you have to reinvent yourself to a certain extent in terms of football. It feels like you've always been a candidate for promotion in the past few years and thus a favorite in every game. In the Bayernliga you have to annoy superior opponents yourself. At the start against Türkspor Augsburg the VfB underdog is, the whole league expects a victory of the top team.
