Tunisian Jendoubi wins first Arab medal in Tokyo Olympics

Tokyo, SANA- The Tunisian national taekwondo player Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi won the silver medal in the under-58 kg category

Tunisia's Taekwondo player Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi won the silver medal in the under-58 kg weight class today, after losing to Italian Vito Dilquilla in the final 16-12 points.

Jendoubi won the first round 5-2, while he lost the second round 6-4 and the third 8-3.

The 19-year-old Jendoubi won a medal after qualifying for the final by eliminating South Korean star John Jang, the 2019 world champion. This medal is the fourteenth in the history of Tunisia's participation in the Olympic Games and the second in taekwondo after the bronze of Oueslati at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the under-80 kg.
