The Italian national team defeated its German counterpart today, at the start of the two teams' campaign in the men's basketball competitions at the Olympic Games, currently being held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
And the Sky Sports network indicated that Italy performed wonderfully in the last five minutes of the match, when the result was in favor of Germany 82-80 and scored 12 consecutive points to turn its back down to win 92-82 in the second group.
Simone Fontechio topped the list of Italian scorers with 20 points, followed by veteran NBA player Danilo Galinari with 18 points during his participation as a substitute, while Maudu Lu was the most scored in Germany with 24 points.
