The judokate (- 52 kg) lost in the final of the Tokyo Games. First silver medal for the Blues.

The French team will have to wait a while to get their first gold medal in Tokyo!

Judokate Amandine Buchard lost in the final in the under 52 kg category, against Japanese Uta Abe in the golden score.

She won a beautiful silver medal, the day after the bronze won by another judoka, Luka Mkheidze.

Qualified for the final after spending only two minutes and twenty seconds on the tatami mat in three fights, Amandine Buchard was unable to repeat her performances from previous rounds and ended up giving in to the world leader.

"Bubuche" had already faced the Japanese six times, and had so far won only one of these fights, during the Grand Slam in Osaka in 2019. Uta Abe, at only 21, still sits a bit more its dominance.
