Japan never ceases to shine.
After Yuto Horigome's title on Sunday in the Urban Sports Park Ariake in Tokyo, the Japanese Momiji Nishiya won the women's street event.
But it's not his nationality that makes this title so special, rather his age.
The skater is only 13 years old and will be celebrating her next birthday on August 30th.
Inspired by her brother, she has been practicing at a high level since 2019 and finished second at the X-Games the same year.

In street, the skater must string together very technical tricks (figures) on modules reminiscent of street furniture such as ramps.
In competition, the riders must chain two runs of 45 seconds each and then launch five tricks.
Only the three best scores out of the seven obtained are taken into account for the final score.
Nishiya got 15.26 points, Leal 14.64 and and Nakayama 14.49.
No record of precocity
However, she did not become the youngest champion in the history of the Olympics.
The precocity record has been held since 1936 by the American Marjorie Gestring, crowned in diving at 13 years and 267 days.
Or about sixty days before the skater.
This skateboard final was placed under the sign of youth since of the eight finalists, six were between 13 and 20 years old.
On the podium, Nishiya is accompanied by the Brazilian Rayssa Leal (also 13 years old) and another Japanese Funa Nakayama (16 years old)!
The American Alexis Sablone was her 34-year-old grandmother.
