Filipino weightlifter Hedley Diaz won the women's weightlifting gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, giving her country the first gold in its history at the Olympic Games.
In her fourth participation in the Olympics, the 30-year-old Diaz gained a total of 224 kilograms to set an Olympic record.
China's Liao Qiuyun, who failed to equal her world record, took the silver with a total of 223 kilograms, while Kazakhstan's Zulfia Chinshanlu won the bronze with a total of 213 kilograms.
