Gurbanko recorded the tremendous achievement in her less powerful ointment.
Around 14:00 Gurbanko will jump into the pool and start the qualifying stage with its strong end - 200 meters individual medley.
Gorbanko holds a gold medal at the last European Championships in this end, a championship in which she overtook the legendary Kitanka Husso.
Gorbanko stopped the clock at 2: 09.99 and a similar result in the qualifiers should be enough for her to qualify for the semi-finals.
Just before the end of Gorbenko's qualifier, Andy Moraz will jump into the pool for the first time (around 13:00) and try to qualify for the women's 200m freestyle semifinals.
Moraz enters the qualifiers with a time of 1: 57.87 seconds and to qualify for the semifinals she has to be one of the 16 fastest swimmers at the end of the four allotments.
Andy will swim in the fourth and final leg so she will more or less know what result she will need to qualify.
Moraz is the first Israeli swimmer to swim 200 meters freestyle in less than two minutes.
