Syrian national swimming team player Ayman Kelzieh finished his competitions at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the 32nd place overall in the 200-meter butterfly race out of 38 competitors who participated in the preliminary round.
"I managed to set a new Syrian record in the 200-meter butterfly race, which is one minute and 59 seconds, a difference of one second from the old record, and this number qualifies me to participate in the world championship," the swimmer Kalzieh said in a statement.
For his part, coach Mohamed Mardanli pointed out that the competitions were difficult, as he was the only Arab swimmer in this race and was able to top his group in the qualifiers, but he came in 32nd place in the general standings, wishing him to achieve remarkable results in the upcoming competitions.
The 25-year-old swimmer, Kalzia, won the Olympic qualification card after recording good numbers in his participation in swimming tournaments and tournaments, in which achievements are considered eligible to participate in the Olympics.
The Syrian triathlon player, Muhammad Maso, finished his competition today in the Olympics, ranking 47th out of 53 competitors in the overall total, while the Syrian table tennis player Hind Zaza lost to Austrian player Liu Jia at dawn last Saturday with four sets without a response in the tournament competitions.
