The Republic Championship for bodybuilding for the second degree, which was held by the Game Federation in Al-Fayhaa Sports City in Damascus, concluded with the participation of 67 players who represented a number of governorates in addition to the police and army authorities.

The weights championship resulted in the victory of Ali Maarawi (Quneitra) with a weight of 65 kg, Abdul Rahman Laban (70 kg), Muhammad Bashir Fares (75 kg), Ali Zine El Abidine Riyad (80 kg), Emil Fahmy (100 kg), all from Al-Shurta Club, Ibrahim Arbash (Damascus) with a weight of 85 kg and Othman Al-Othman (Aleppo) with a weight of 90 kg, Miqdad Fatiha (the army) with a weight of 95 kg, and Abdel-Saheb Box (Damascus) with a weight of over 100 kg.

Head of the Body Building Federation, Manar Heikal, said in a statement to SANA’s sports representative, “The tournament witnessed good levels of players, and a group of them will be selected according to the best results achieved in this tournament, to raise them to the first degree, pointing to the good participation that the tournament enjoyed despite the difficulty of preparation.”

A number of players pointed to the strong competition that the tournament witnessed in all weights to achieve the first positions and reserve the pass to the first-class championship, at the same time expressing their willingness to participate in the upcoming local benefits and achieve advanced positions that qualify them to join the national team and represent it well in international forums.
