Australian swimmer Kylie McKeown won the gold medal in the women's 100m backstroke today at the Tokyo Olympics.

Sky Sports reported that McKeown finished first with a time of 57.47 seconds, breaking the Olympic record.

Canada's Kylie Masse came second with a time of 57.72 seconds to win the silver medal.

American Reagan Smith finished third with a time of 58.5 seconds to win the bronze medal.
