Taking the Olympics as a snapshot of an era, it's crazy how much the world has changed in five years. At first, at least. Now, it won't surprise anyone to say that the impact of the health crisis has literally destroyed the Olympic spirit, much more than the Olympian calm of the Japanese. What was unfortunately expected, but which, after three days of competition, isturns out even worse than initially feared.
