The second row of Stade Rochelais Mathieu Tanguy was sentenced by the court of La Rochelle to four months suspended sentence for violence committed in a meeting last Thursday.

The victim and client of the nightclub, a man named Gregory, is a civil party and accuses him of various inappropriate attitudes. The rugby player would have passed his hand through the hair of Grégory, who was waiting to be served at the bar, commenting: "

Sentenced to four months suspended and sanctioned by his club
Already convicted in 2016 for similar facts, the Rochelais is therefore in recidivism, which earned him this four-month suspended prison sentence and 2,500 euros fine. He will also have to pay a provision of 2,000 euros to the victim, pending a decision on "
civil interests
" on December 21. The prosecution deplored that a "
person of public notoriety and adored by young people did not respect the values instilled by rugby
". Mathieu Tanguy tried to justify himself by evoking the "
rather strong character
" of the rugbmen, aggravated by alcohol. However, he admits to being aware of having damaged the image of his club, specifying that he was "
