On the fourth day of the competition, the dressage team won the second German gold medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Isabell Werth from Rheinberg with Bella Rose, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl from Tuntenhausen with Dalera and Dorothee Schneider from Framersheim with the gelding Showtime won ahead of the USA and Great Britain.
The first gold medal for the German Olympic team was won by canoeist Ricarda Funk in a kayak single on Tuesday.
Isabell Werth has won her seventh gold medal at the Olympic Games and is about to set a record.
If she wins the individual final on Wednesday (from 10.30 a.m. CEST, TV: ZDF), the 52-year-old will draw level with the most successful German Olympic athlete in history, the canoeist Birgit Fischer.
Both would then have eight gold medals.
