Report by Yaniv Tuchman (Walla! Sports Messenger to Tokyo)

For five years, Israel's senior judoka, Sagi Muki, has been waiting for the Tokyo Olympics.

Today (Tuesday) Muki made his debut for the judo arena at the Tokyo Olympics, and despite a good start, which included a lightweight iPhone victory over Brazilian Eduardo Santos in the first round, Muki was knocked out of the Olympic tournament after losing in the quarterfinals to an Austrian opponent.

"Things didn't connect to me," Muki admitted. "In the last fight we both fought to the end and gave everything, but it didn't work out. I didn't want to end like that, I really wanted to win. He threw me in the exercise with a hug and I found myself out all of a sudden. One day you are a world champion, the day after you are out. A lot of things happened. In the last year, I continued to train hard to get ready but it did not work out for me. I will return to Israel, we will digest and move on. What goes through the heart? "I will take it all in proportion and move on."

"It was a difficult day," Muki said. "In the end I failed to put things together to win. In judo, one second of lack of concentration and you fall, and then you're out of the competition. Of course I did not want to end that way, but I know I gave it my all. I have to watch the fight again to Understand what was wrong.Analyzing the battle now is not true. Slowly".

Muki added: "I came with the goal of fighting, not giving up and giving my all. Unfortunately it was not enough, and it is part of the sport. Do not worry, everything is fine and moving forward. Olympic day is a special and different day, where a lot of things happen. Slowly I will decipher the whole day This is to move forward. "

"I did not want to end the day like that, no doubt," Muki noted.

"A world-ranked athlete has a lot of expectations of him, and he mostly expects of himself. At the end of the day, when I'm out of competition, this is not the place I wanted to get to and it happened. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. In these moments the most important thing is to remember "And move on. My phone has been disconnected for a week and a half, I'm not up to date with what was going on and the noise around me."

The judoka concluded: "I want to return to the Olympic village and slowly digest everything. Oren Samadja? I have not spoken to him yet. What next? I will return to Israel and of course I will move forward with all my might."
