She came so close ... Weightlifter Dora Tchakounté almost offered France a medal she was not expecting at all.
Engaged in the final in -59kg, France from the Saint-Maur des Fossés club (94) believed for a long time to be able to bring home a medal.
She was even second before the final clean throw round, but eventually saw Turkmen Guryeva and Japanese Andoh pass her.
The Frenchwoman failed one foot of the podium for a kilo, having lifted 213 kg in total against 214 for Andoh.
France therefore remains at 5 medals in these Olympics.
Even if Clarisse Agbégnénou, qualified for the final in judo, is sure to bring a sixth.
After a close and intense match, Dora placed 4th with a total of 213kg!
🏋
You can be proud of your Dora match, you beautifully represented the French dumbbell 💙🤍❤️
