604 new industrial facilities, projects and crafts in the governorates entered production and actual work during the first half of this year, with a capital of 233.750 billion Syrian pounds and providing job opportunities estimated at more than 3,200.
According to the report of the Investment Directorate at the Ministry of Industry, SANA obtained a copy of it. 300 industrial facilities licensed in accordance with Law 21 were implemented and entered the production phase with a capital of 214.100 billion pounds and provided 1,875 job opportunities, distributed among 104 food facilities, 101 chemical, 53 engineering, and 42 textile facilities.
The facilities were distributed in the governorate of Damascus countryside 58 facilities, Hama 52 facilities, Homs 21, Latakia 32, Tartous 25, Aleppo, 6 Daraa, As-Suwayda, 4 Quneitra, 3 in Damascus, in addition to 61 facilities in the industrial cities, including 29 facilities in Adra and 27 in Sheikh Najjar. and 5 in Hassia.
Regarding the handicraft establishments implemented, the report indicated that 295 industrial crafts had been implemented with a capital of 2.395 billion pounds, which provided 739 job opportunities, namely 133 food establishments, 118 engineering, 32 chemical and 12 textile establishments.
Tartous governorate topped the number of craft establishments with 81, followed by Hama with 74, Damascus countryside 29, Lattakia 27, Homs 26, Aleppo 20, Daraa 17, Sweida 11, Quneitra 4, Deir Ezzor 2, and the same in Damascus, one in Adra and the same in Hasaka.
The number of establishments implemented in accordance with the Investment Law reached 9 investment facilities with a capital of 17.254 billion pounds and provided 593 job opportunities, including 5 chemical facilities, two engineering facilities and the same food, 4 of which were distributed in Tartous, 3 in Adra Industrial, and one in Hasya Industrial City and another in Damascus countryside.
As for the industrial facilities (licensed) according to Law 21, their number reached 1,723 with a capital of 176.303 billion pounds, and is expected to provide 1,366 job opportunities, including 557 chemical facilities, 491 food facilities, 353 engineering facilities, and 322 textile facilities.
The establishments were distributed among the industrial cities and governorates, with 371 establishments in Damascus countryside, 299 in Aleppo, 96 in Damascus, 63 in Daraa, 60 in Lattakia, 45 in Homs, 43 in Tartous, 39 in Hama, 10 in As-Suwayda, 7 in Deir Ezzor, 3 in Quneitra, and 687 establishments in the industrial cities. Of these, 465 are in Sheikh Najjar, 175 are in Adra, and 47 are in Hasya.
The number of investment establishments reached 5 and is expected to provide 525 job opportunities.
