The ninth medal for France, the second for tricolor rowing in Tokyo.
At the end of a fantastic race, Claire Bové and Laura Tarantola took second place in the final of the two lightweight pairs, beaten for only 14 hundredths by the Italians Cesarini and Rodini.
The French therefore take the silver medal.

Author of a magnificent race in 47.72, the Frenchman, qualified narrowly, failed at the foot of the podium in the final of the 100m freestyle, the fastest in the history of the Games.
The 22-year-old swimmer took a date with Paris 2024. The title went to favorite Caeleb Dressel.
The American set a new Olympic record (47.02) and beat Australia's Kyle Chalmers, silver medalist, and Russian Kliment Kolesnikov, bronze medal.
Swimming (F): Gold and the world record for China in the 4x200m, France 8th
Stratospheric.
A magnificent performance from China, who won the women's 4x200m freestyle relay, setting a new world record (7: 40.33).
The Chinese beat Ledecky's United States and the Australians.
Dropped, France took last place in this final seventeen seconds from China.

The Olympic swimming pool in Tokyo is doing well in Australia.
Izaac Stubblety-Cook just won the 200m breaststroke final and brings Australia a fifth gold medal in swimming in Tokyo.

The 22-year-old swimmer edged Dutchman Arno Kamminga and Finnish Matti Mattsson.
Swimming (F): gold and Olympic record for Chinese Zhang in the 200m butterfly
Huge performance by Yufei Zhang.
The Chinese won gold in the 200m butterfly, setting a new Olympic record (2: 03.86).
Zhang edged out Americans Regan Smith and Hali Flickinger.
Fencing (F): France beats Italy and will play for gold, tenth medal guaranteed
What a comeback! Led by twelve points, the French dominated Italy (45-43), in the semi-final of the women's team foil event. Ysaora Thibus, Pauline Ranvier and Anita Blaze are therefore qualified for the final at 12:55 pm where they will face the Russians. Tenth medal assured for France and first medal in the discipline since 1984.
Judo (F): In suffering, Madeleine Malonga climbed to the semi-final in the -78kg category
What a fright for Madeleine Malonga!
Manhandled by the Cuban Antomarchi in the quarter-finals, the Frenchwoman managed to qualify for the semi-final of the -78kg category.
The world number one made the difference in the Golden score with an ippon while the Cuban seemed to have gained the upper hand.
Madeleine Malonga's semi-final is announced at 10:15 a.m.

Judo (M): Alexandre Iddir out of entry in the -100kg
It is already over for Alexandre Iddir in judo.
The Frenchman, engaged in the -100kg category, lost in the round of 16 against Azerbaijani Zelym Kotsoiev on waza-ari.
Canoe-Kayak (F): Marjorie Delasous in the final of the C1

Engaged in the same quarter-final, Sylvain André, winner of the series, and Romain Mahieu, third, both reach the quarter-finals.
The third tricolor, Joris Daudet, also won his series and joined his two compatriots in the semi-finals.
