It's a new start on loan for Alphonse Areola.
The 28-year-old PSG goalkeeper will sign up for a season with London club West Ham in the coming hours, as announced on Thursday by L'Équipe.
Blocked in Paris since the arrival of Keylor Navas in the summer of 2019, the French world champion (2018) will therefore experience his third loan in a row after Real Madrid (2019-2020) and Fulham (2020-2021).
West Ham will also have a purchase option at the end of the season.
Areola is under contract until June 2023 with his training club.
But the presence of Navas and the arrival of the neo-European champion Gianluigi Donnarumma prevent any prospect for the French goalkeeper, appeared 107 times with the PSG jersey.
But he only really started during the 2017-2018 season under the orders of Unai Emery.
In turn competing with Kevin Trapp or Gianluigi Buffon, Areola has never succeeded in completely convincing Parisian managers and coaches.
He therefore joined London for the second season in a row.
A city that he and his family particularly love.
Just like the Premier League.
With Fulham last year, he played 37 games, achieving several good performances despite being relegated to his club's second division.
