The Egyptian national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the handball competition within the activities of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, by defeating its Swedish counterpart in the fourth round of the group stage.
The Pharaohs beat their Swedish counterpart, by five goals, 27-22 in the match that brought them together today, with the remarkable brilliance of goalkeeper Karim Hindawi.
And the Egyptian team raised its score to 6 points, ensuring its rise to the quarter-finals by placing it in second place in the standings of the second group, regardless of the outcome of its next match against Bahrain.
The Egyptian team had defeated its Portuguese counterpart in the first match, 37-31, before losing to the leaders of the group, Denmark, and then defeating Japan.
