Your choice to join Bordeaux surprised in Switzerland. What are the reasons that pushed you to accept this challenge?
After seven wonderful years with the Swiss national team, I realized that I wanted to do something different.
I went on vacation without having any idea what to do next, without having any plans.
The transfer window had already started, the clubs were getting organized and Bordeaux, to everyone's surprise, contacted me and I seized the opportunity immediately.
I met the technical director and the president, I understood that we were on the same wavelength.
I have always liked challenges, especially when there is behind a very big project like here.

Any coach and any player is always contacted by several clubs but there was nothing concrete.

You have to get in touch with the players, they are people, you have to discover their human and individual qualities and get them to be together and to be one. I always say it, we can have 11 or 25 very good players, if they do not play together, we do not obtain results. The most important thing is that they all work together and we agree with the technical director who knows the transfer window and the team.
