Twice European champion in 2018 and 2020, the 21-year-old Frenchwoman was beaten on waza-ari by Cuban world number one Idalys Ortiz, Olympic champion in 2012. She then defeated Turkish Kayra Sayit as the patron.

"We do not spit on a medal," said the judokate at the microphone of France Televisions.
This is France's 12th medal, the 6th in judo.
