The quarter-final matches of the Republic Cup for men will start tomorrow with the Al-Karama and Al-Thawra matches in Homs and Al-Ittihad with the Army in Aleppo within the first leg.
The teams will meet again in the second leg next Wednesday at Al-Fayhaa Hall in Damascus.
Al-Jalaa and Al-Nawair teams qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Al-Orouba and Al-Hurriya in the first round of the competition.
Al-Jalaa reached the semi-finals by defeating Al-Uruba in the first leg matches in the first round with 130-75 points and 116-48 points, respectively, while a play-off match was resorted to in the second confrontation of the same round, which brought the waterwheels with Al-Hurriya after the two teams exchanged wins back and forth. .
In the first-leg match, Al-Hurriya won 98-88 points, and Al-Nowair won the second leg with 79-76 points. The play-off ended with Al-Nowaeer winning 58-54 points, noting that the draw prevented Al-Galaa, Al-Nawair, Al-Uruba and Al-Hurriya from participating in the quarter-final matches.
Al-Jaish, Al-Ittihad, Al-Thawra and Al-Karama teams qualified for the quarter-finals by winning back and forth in the first round over Al-Talia, Al-Wathba, Yarmouk and Al-Wehda teams, respectively. As for Al-Thawra, it defeated Yarmouk 82-75 points and 90-75 points. Al-Karama won over Al-Wahda in the first leg of 84-78 points, and Al-Wahda over Al-Karama in the second leg with 76-69 points, and the deciding round between them ended with Al-Karama winning 88-79 points.
