The Russian national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the women's volleyball tournament at the Tokyo Olympics, after defeating the United States by three clean sets today.
The Russian team won three games without a match, 25/20, 25/12 and 25/19.
This victory is the third victory for the Russian team in the group stage, compared to one loss, to raise its score to 8 points and guarantee its qualification to the quarter-finals before its last match in this round against its Turkish counterpart on August 2nd.
Twelve teams will participate in the competition, divided into two groups of 6 teams each. The first 4 teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals.
