Champions Trophy: Hakimi already seduces with PSG

The Moroccan side distinguished himself during the Champions Trophy, showing in particular all his offensive qualities on the right side.

The finalist's medal clutched in his left hand, Achraf Hakimi left Bloomfield Stadium with his face closed on Sunday evening.

In addition to the defeat against Losc (1-0) in this Champions Trophy, the Moroccan right-back, recruited against 60 million euros (excluding bonus) at Inter Milan where he had just been crowned champion of Italy, spent the evening being scolded by much of the Israeli public for its repeated support for the Palestinian people.

However, Hakimi has every reason to be proud of his performance and his first official outing in the Paris jersey.

"Hakimi is a ball, it is a fighter plane," said Grégory Paisley, the Serie A specialist from beIN Sports.

He is a boy capable of repeating high intensity runs for 90 minutes.

“Against Lille, the defender put into practice a wide range of these talents.

His breakthroughs on the right side, his ball calls and his numerous crosses, constituted the main part of the dangerous offensive movements of the Parisians.

"He is the modern hyper offensive side," recently summed up Hervé Renard, the former Morocco coach who gave his first chances in selection to the neo-Parisian.

Sometimes taking advantage of Danilo's repositioning between central defenders Kehrer and Kimpembe, Hakimi has, against Lille, once again shown that he was naturally cut out to evolve in a system with three defenders behind him.

Emerging complicity with Wijnaldum

Positive for Covid-19, Achraf Hakimi, 22, had missed two preparation matches, against Chambly then Augsburg.

But for his comeback against Orléans he scored after an already full match.

"I am very happy with the way in which I was received, I am happy to be here", he had then slipped, confirming a visibly perfectly successful integration.

"The name you quote brings significant added value", had recognized Mauricio Pochettino when we had mentioned the importance of recruiting the Moroccan.

In a press conference, he added: “He is a player who gives us many options, especially offensively.

He has great physical and technical potential.

It can overflow, center.

He adapts well.

"

Hakimi's evening, as frustrating as it is for him, should not make us forget the many hopes that it will have raised when the entry into play of Wijnaldum seemed to draw the first sketches of a complicity that only requires 'to prosper.

Strongly the continuation.
