China's Chen Yu won the women's singles gold in the badminton competition at the Tokyo Olympics.
China's Xinhua news agency reported that "world number two Chen won the women's singles gold after defeating Taiwan's Tai Zuoying, and the match ended 21-18, 19-21, 21-18 in today's final, to crown Chen with the title."
India's BV Sindhu also won the bronze medal after defeating China's He Ping Jiao.
