The German Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) was disqualified and lost his 2nd place in the Hungarian Grand Prix because it "
was not possible to take a sample of one liter of fuel
" in his tank after the race, decided the race direction. Vettel and Aston Martin violated Article 6.6 of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile Code of Technical Regulations, which states that “
competitors must ensure that a fuel sample of 1.0 liter of fuel can be taken from the car at all times
”so as not to have an advantage in terms of performance. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) therefore passes 2nd behind Esteban Ocon (Alpine), and Carlos Sainz Jr (ESP / Ferrari) third.
