After Egypt in the quarterfinals, France dominated Japan in the semi-final of the foil team event (45-42).
This propels the Blues (Erwann Le Pechoux, Julien Mertine and Enzo Lefort) in the final and indirectly offers France the 21st medal at these Games and the fifth for fencing.
In the final (12:50), the French foilists will be opposed to the United States or Russia.
