Ukrainian Andriy Shevchenko announced today the end of his career as coach of the Ukrainian national football team, after the expiration of his contract with the Federation.
"Today my contract with the Ukrainian Football Federation expired, as I spent five years with the national team," Shevchenko said on his Twitter account. "It was hard work and that proved that we are capable of playing modern football."
The Ukrainian international led his country in the European Championship 2020 and came out of the quarter-finals with a heavy loss against England 0-4.
