After Mitchel Bakker, another Parisian defender could join Bayer Leverkusen this summer. As explained by the German newspaper Kicker, the 6th in the last German championship, is interested in Thilo Kehrer, the international defender of PSG. The first contacts are established with the club of the capital and the entourage of the player, even if the exchanges are only beginning. It will notably be necessary to find an agreement with Paris concerning the price of the 24-year-old player bought 37 million euros from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2018. And also to convince Kehrer that the challenge proposed by the 6th of the last German championship is worth the blow away from the French capital where he feels good.
For PSG, the financial transaction would obviously be good news as summer sales are limited to the simple Mitchel Bakker.
The Dutchman was sold for € 7million to Bayer Leverkusen.
In its accounting forecasts presented to the LFP, the capital club has forecast nearly 200 million euros in sales.
A transfer from Kehrer would not solve everything but would bring Paris somewhat closer to this goal.
An estimated market value of around 20 to 25 million euros
With Mauro Icardi or Pablo Sarabia, the German international (9 selections) is one of the only members of the Parisian workforce to benefit from a rating on the transfer market. His market value is estimated at around 20 to 25 million euros, in particular thanks to his age (24 years) and his contract running until June 2023. Well known to German clubs, Kehrer remains appreciated for his versatility (central and lateral right). And his future at PSG seems limited three years after his arrival.
The defender passed through Stuttgart has never convinced, neither under Thomas Tuchel, nor since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino. Used in the rotation, Kehrer is blocked this season by the indebted Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe as well as by the arrival of Sergio Ramos and Achraf Hakimi. Appeared 95 times with PSG since 2018, the German could therefore have his last moments in France. While waiting for a possible agreement, he was well titular Sunday evening during the Champions Trophy lost against Lille (1-0). He will know more about his future in the coming days.
